Hidup bukan sebuah DVD Player

Cerita ini adalah “kisah nyata” yang pernah terjadi di Amerika. Seorang pria membawa pulang truk baru kebanggaannya, kemudian ia meninggalkan truk tersebut sejenak untuk melakukan kegiatan lain.

Anak lelakinya yang berumur 3 tahun sangat gembira melihat ada truk baru, ia memukul-mukulkan palu ke truk baru tersebut. Akibatnya truk baru tersebut penyok dan catnya tergores.

Pria tersebut berlari menghampiri anaknya dan memukulnya, memukul tangan anaknya dengan palu sebagai hukuman. Setelah sang ayah tenang kembali, dia segera membawa anaknya ke rumah sakit. Walaupun dokter telah mencoba segala usaha untuk menyelamatkan jari-jari anak yang hancur tersebut, tetapi ia tetap gagal. Akhirnya dokter memutuskan untuk melakukan amputasi semua jari pada kedua tangan anak kecil tersebut.

Ketika anak kecil itu sadar dari operasi amputasi dan jarinya telah tidak ada dan dibungkus perban, dengan polos ia berkata, “Papa, aku minta maaf tentang trukmu.” Kemudian, ia bertanya, “tetapi kapan jari- jariku akan tumbuh kembali?”

Ayahnya pulang ke rumah dan melakukan bunuh diri.

Renungkan cerita di atas! Berpikirlah dahulu sebelum kau kehilangan kesabaran kepada seseorang yang kau cintai. Truk dapat diperbaiki. Tulang yang hancur dan hati yang disakiti seringkali tidak dapat diperbaiki. Terlalu sering kita gagal untuk membedakan antara orang dan perbuatannya, kita seringkali lupa bahwa mengampuni lebih besar daripada membalas dendam.

Orang dapat berbuat salah. Tetapi, tindakan yang kita ambil dalam kemarahan akan menghantui kita selamanya. Tahan, tunda dan pikirkan sebelum mengambil tindakan. Mengampuni dan melupakan, mengasihi satu dengan lainnya. Ingatlah, jika kau menghakimi orang, kau tidak akan ada waktu untuk mencintainya. Waktu tidak dapat kembali. HIDUP bukanlah sebuah DCD PLAYER, yang dapat di backward dan forward. HIDUP hanya ada tombol PLAY dan STOP saja. Jangan sampai kita melakukan kesalahan yang dapat membayangi kehidupan kita kelak. Yang menjadi sebuah inti hidup adalah “HATI". Hati yang dihiasi belas kasih dan cinta kasih. CINTA KASIH merupakan nafas kehidupan kita yang sesungguhnya.

Alasan Lelaki Berbohong

Suatu hari, ketika sedang menebang pohon, seorang penebang kayu kehilangan kapaknya karena jatuh ke sungai. Lalu dia menangis dan berdoa, sehingga Dewa muncul.“Mengapa kamu menangis?”

Si penbang kayu sambil terisak menceritakan bahwa kapak sebagai sumber penghasilan satu-satunya telah jatuh ke sungai. Lalu Dewa menghilang dan muncul kembali membawa kapak emas. “Apakah ini kapakmu?”

“Bukan, Dewa,”

Lalu Dewa muncul kembali membawa kapak perak. “Apakah ini kapakmu?”

“Bukan, Dewa.”

Lalu Dewa mengeluarkan sebuah kapak yang jelek dengan pegangan kayu dan mata besi. “Apakah ini kapakmu?”

“Ya, Dewa, benar ini kapak saya”

“Kamu orang jujur. Karena itu aku akan memberikan ketiga kapak ini untukmu sebagai upah kejujuranmu.”

Lelaki itu sangat bersyukur dan pulang dengan gembira.

Beberapa hari kemudian, ketika sedang menyeberang sungai, istrinya terjatuh dan hanyut. Lagi, si penebang kayu menangis dan berdoa. Kemudian Dewa muncul.

“Mengapa kamu menangis?”

“Istri saya satu-satunya yang sangat saya cintai terjatuh ke sungai, Dewa.”Lalu Dewa menghilang ke dalam sungai dan muncul kembai dengan membawa Jennifer Lopez. “Apakah ini istrimu?” tanya Dewa.

“Ya, Dewa.”

Lalu Dewa marah dan berkata: “Kamu berbohong, kemana perginya kejujuranmu ?”

Lelaki itu dengan takut dan gemetar berkata, “Dewa, seandainya saya tadi menjawab tidak, Dewa akan kembali dengan membawa Britney Spears, dan jika saat itu saya juga menjawab tidak, Dewa akan kembali membawa istri saya yang asli, dan jika ketika itu saya menjawab iya, Dewa akan memberikan ketiganya untuk menjadi istri saya. Saya ini orang miskin, Dewa, tidak mungkin saya bisa membahagiakan tiga orang istri…”

Guardian Angel :)

We all take granted the great gift of life. You dont really notice how precious it is until death look you in the eyes.

When I was about two years old, I had a near-death experience. I dont really remember much aboutit except for what my mom told me.

It was a hot summer day and everybody had gone outside to nejoy the weather. My sister and her friend jumoed into out backyard pool to cool off. I did not know how to swim yet. My mom would would always watch all of us very closely, but just for a minute, she had walked over to the side of the yard to talk to my dad. She told my sister to watch out for me, but my sister was busy laughing and having fun with her friend.

Before anyone knew it, I fell into the pool. No one heard me because I was so little; there was hardly a splash.

What happened next was amazing. My mom says it felt as though someone tapped her on the shoulder, but when she turned around no one was there. It was then that she noticed I wasnt in sight. She ran over to the pool, looking for me. She saw in the pool, kicking and waving my arms, trying to keep my head above the water. She jumped in and pulled me out, Luckily I was okay. She held in her arms and thanked God that I was allright.

All of this happened within less that a minute. It shows how precious life really is and how it be lost in the blink of an eye.

No one really knows why my mom turned around. To this day, she thinks that it was my guardian angel tapping her on the shoulder.

Mother and Son! :)

My mom only had one eye.
I hated her, she was such an embarrassment.
My mom ran a small shop at a flea market.
She collected little weeds and such to sell,
anything for the money we needed she was such an embarrassment.
There was this one day during elementary school.
I remember that it was field day, and my mom came.
I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me?
I threw her a hateful look and ran out.
The next day at school...
"Your mom only has one eye?!" and they taunted me.

I wished that my mom would just disappear from this world so I said to my mom,
"Mom, why don't you have the other eye?! You're only going to make me a laughingstock. Why don't you just die?"
My mom did not respond.
I guess I felt a little bad, but at the same time,
it felt good to think that I had said what I'd wanted to say all this time.

Maybe it was because my mom hadn't punished me,
but I didn't think that I had hurt her feelings very badly.

That night...I woke up, and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water.
My mom was crying there, so quietly, as if she was afraid that she might wake me.
I took a look at her, and then turned away.
Because of the thing I had said to her earlier,
there was something pinching at me in the corner of my heart.
Even so, I hated my mother who was crying out of her one eye.
So I told myself that I would grow up and become successful,
because I hated my one-eyed mom and our desperate poverty.

Then I studied really hard.
I left my mother and came to Seoul and studied,
and got accepted in the Seoul University with all the confidence I had.
Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own.
Then I had kids, too.
Now I'm living happily as a successful man.
I like it here because it's a place that doesn't remind me of my mom.

This happiness was getting bigger and bigger,
when someone unexpected came to see me
"What?! Who's this?!"... It was my mother...
Still with her one eye. It felt as if the whole sky was falling apart on me.
My little girl ran away, scared of my mom's eye.

And I asked her, "Who are you? I don't know you!!!" as if I tried to make that real.
I screamed at her
"How dare you come to my house and scare my daughter! Get out here now!"
And to this, my mother quietly answered, "oh, I'm so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address," and she disappeared.
Thank good ness... she doesn't recognize me.
I was quite relieved.
I told myself that I wasn't going to care,
or think about this for the rest of my life.

Then a wave of relief came upon me...
One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house.
I lied to my wife saying that I was going on a business trip.
After the reunion, I went down to the old shack, that I used to call a house...
Just out of curiosity there, I found my mother fallen on the cold ground.
But I did not shed a single tear.
She had a piece of paper in her hand....
It was a letter to me.

"My Son,
I think my life has been long enough now.
And... I won't visit Seoul anymore... but would it be too much to ask if I wanted you to come visit me once in a while?
I miss you so much. And I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.
But I decided not to go to the school....
For you... I'm sorry that I only have one eye, and I was an embarrassment for you.
You see, when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye.
As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you having to grow up with only one eye...
So I gave you mine...
I was so proud of my son that was seeing a whole new world for me,
in my place, with that eye.
I was never upset at you for anything you did.
The couple times that you were angry with me.
I thought to myself, 'it's because he loves me.'
I miss the times when you were still young around me.

One night a guy and girl were driving home from the movies.
The boy sensed there was something wrong because of the painful silence they shared between them that night.
The girl then asked the boy to pull over because she wanted to talk.
She told him that her feelings had changed and that it was time to move on.
A silent tear slid down his cheek as he slowly reached into his pocket and passed her a folded note. At that moment, a drunk driver was speeding down that very same street.
He swerved right into the drivers seat, killing the boy.
Miraculously, the girl survived.
Remembering the note, she pulled it out and read it.

Their Beginning ♥

I met my husband in church on a Sunday morning. We met through some friends and I was suppose to be the couple of his best friend and my friend was for him. We all joined the juvenile chorus and spent most Wednesdays and Fridays together at practice. I was 15 and he was 21 it was a great group.

On my 16th birthday I had a small get together at my grandmothers house. Of course I invited him and his friend which was trying very hard to become my boyfriend. Now don't get me wrong both boys were very cute but mike (my husband) was funny and he just caught my attention more. I always had a good time and a good laugh around him. We had become good friends.

In church we did community projects together, we participated in church activities and were together most of the days. He would drive up every afternoon for about 30 miles to see me on my lunch break. I finally budged and became the girlfriend of the other boy. But I found my self unhappy and not in love so I broke it off. Throughout the entire time mike would come by and help me with home work and we talked about his school and mine and his job and what we both wanted to do in life.

He planned on become a police officer I completely supported him as a friend. He finally became a police officer but the job offered was 2 and a half hours away. We thought it would be the worst to keep in touch but he visited every Tuesday and Sunday. He called every night and every morning.

Soon enough he told me that he could not be away from me. So he to ask me to marry him. By this time I was 16 going on 17 yrs old. I was a child but felt so strongly about our feelings that I agreed. We were engaged for 2 years and got married on December 16th 2000. And ever since we've been together for the past 10 years this winter.

One day three monks were told by the minister that today was their off day, to do whatever they want and at the end of the day, God would forgive then of their sins.

When i went to the bar last night , I noticed this old man about 75-80 years sitting all alone in the corner and he was crying over his cocktail .
